  2. Using the current font for the list of stuff on left is cool, but the actual content should be in a better, cleaner font. Please consider changing it to something like Helvetica.

  3. Other version of password safe increment the lock time from usage, not from when the safe is opened. This is far more convenient as it allows you to continue interacting with the safe instead of it arbitrarily closing when the timer decides you are finished.

  5. When Search filter is active and I press Cmd+E to add an entry, new entry is created somewhere in the background and I see nothing, keeping pressing Cmd+E and creating new entries. It would make sense to either show the new entry even if it doesn't match the filter, or clear the filter, so that I could see new Entry.

  6. It looks like the text entry boxes are too short, or the text is aligned bottom instead of center or top. It's a very, very minor thing. Great app overall.

This is a known bug which will be fixed on the next update. Thanks for telling us about it.

  7. This would make it easier for those times when using longer random passwords and having to input them on another machine which doesn't have or have access to a pwSafe app.

I.e. uwggor6hikkqt3eezqrf is viewed as uwgg or6h ikkq t3ee zqrf

Perhaps have a setting like the password policy where it could be on a per password entry or system wide (or even in the policy!)

This would only be for viewing, and copying would not be affected.

    Using the iOS version.

  8. The window should not lock X minutes after the the last unlock, but X minutes after the last use. That is, if I interact with pwsafe every 30 seconds for 10 minutes, it shouldn't lock... But if I ignore the window then it should lock.

This is a small difference, but it would make the program more usable.

  9. I love pwsafe, and use it on my iPad and iPhone. It's a wonderful application, but I have a request for a new feature, and also a question.

First, I'd like some control over the iteration count used. I'm willing to wait a few seconds to open the file on my iPhone, in exchange for a few bits more of security. I understand this only buys a little bit of extra security, but every little bit helps when you're putting your human ability to remember and type a complicated password up against Moore's law.

Second, I'm curious: in your password…

  10. One of my main uses of pwsafe is in storing generated passwords of up to 20 characters for various online banking sites. Such sites do not require the full password but three characters. The 'display a subset of Password' on the Win version provides a great service and if this could be replicated on the ios version then it would allow me to identify the required subset on my iphone to enter either on Safari or on another device.

Please let me know the feasibility!

    Hi Philip,

I’ll take a look at this feature and, if possible, add it to one of the new versions.

    Thanks for you suggestion.

  11. When you store the safe in iCloud, you should be able to back it up to local disk, just to make sure to have youre own copy locally. If iCloud service is down or the iCloud version is corrupt.

  13. Hi, I use your app on my iPhone and iPad.
I have just purchased a Samsung ChromeBook and would love to be able to use pwSafe on that utilising its offline storage.

  14. Often I want to lookup a URL in pwSafe on my phone and type it into my desktop at work (which doesn't have pwSafe and I have IT goons which won't let me install it).

If the URL is long I can't see the whole entry as it gets truncated in the view. I have to hit edit to try to get in to see the whole URL. Please consider a scroll feature in view to see it without having to go into edit. Or an auto scroll feature for any field too long to view. Thanks.

  15. I just got pwSafe for my Mac and my iPad. I like it a lot. It is pretty easy to use and I love the way in syncs over iCloud.

However, I see a really big problem. It is way too easy to delete a safe in the Mac app. If you select a safe in the welcome screen a hit the delete key it's gone! There should be some kind of "are you sure you want to do this?" warning with an opportunity to say no.

The iPad app is much better on this. To delete a safe I…

  16. I can't believe you don't offer an "All Items" viewing option in the Mac desktop app like you do on the iOS apps! Please add!
Also, a "Save" button after creating or editing and entry would make it feel more user friendly and intuitive ..... even if it's not needed.

  17. Earlier versions of PasswordSafe saved to a file with a .db extension. You guys wanted to be fancy and use .pwsafe3. I know I can just change the extension to .pwsafe3, but what if that breaks my other PWS applications running on Linux or Windows or FooOS? Please add the ability to open PasswordSafe files that have the .db extension, like when Bruce Schneier first made this app, and for those of us who have been using it for several years. Thanks.

  18. Would it be possible to have this great application run on on an IronKey flash drive? The IronKey app does not run on a Mac. IronKey is very secure and easily transported (no glass). If it pwSafe could run from the IronKey on a PC or a Mac it would be great.

Nice job on pwSafe, I like keeping my really important passwords in a local safe. I don't want to share them. IronKey could also provide backup without using the network.

  20. The ability to add new fields in pwSafe would make it the perfect app. So say I want a heading called "first school" on one password and "favourite teacher" on another. Great app :-)
